I found the exercises good for balance but now I have sore knees. What do you suggest ?

rae0521 says:

I understand and have no INTELLECTUAL argument about the benefit of these strengthening manoeuvres.
My problem is to overcome the BOREDOM that quickly overcomes me when doing "exercises" of any kind. I have never been able to kick the attitude that "this is a complete waste of time." I guess that's because I rarely see or feel any immediate benefit from the work. In fact, I often feel worse after a "workout" – tired and grumpy. I've even tried using music and videos to distract me but to no avail. I'm 84 now and it's been this way all my life.
I use to love hiking and swimming and activities of a similar nature. Fortunately I did them often enough to keep in reasonably good shape during my younger years. I never "exercised" by going to a gym or out for a run – again a "complete waste of time that left me feeling worse than when I started."

jan b says:

There is so much talk about that it is good to walk a lot if you have lumbar spinal stenosis, but no one talks about walking/exercise on stairs whether it is good or bad for this disease. Why?
