After having a spinal fusion procedure done, make sure to clear any exercise program with your doctor first.
This video shows you how to safely strengthen your core while protecting the spine. The key is to keep the spine stable and neutral while adding in motion from the limbs.
These exercises are great for anyone wanting to work on core strength too:)

I am 4 months out from surgery; my doctor said to walk, no rehabilitation, as a massage therapist for thirty years I questioned it, and only then did they referred me to agencies, which had less than decent reviews: I am so stiff but I hesitate to stretch, other problems have began to surface. What is the best exercise and stretches can I do.

Thank you so much! I'm 2 months post L4-L5 fusion surgery. I got so used to not moving for two years because of the numbness and pain. I went from hiking every day, to hardly being able to climb the stairs. I'm a young at heart 62 year old and not ready to give up the great outdoors. I promise to take it slow!
What's goods for lumber spondylosis
Can I do these exercises 5 weeks after the TLIF surgery?
Thank you so much! I called many times for PT and they never got back to me. I suffered a 60% Burst fracture on my L5 in October and had a Fusion Posterior Lumbar procedure done. I’ve been feeling super down physically, but this helped me so much!
