If you only had these two choices , strength training or vertimax , which would you do ?

I just got my bands so I will be starting most of these today. So far a few weeks into Jump training, my current cemented exercises are: Squats, DB Squats, Barbell Squats, 180 Jumps, BSS, Tuck Jumps, and Reverse HE. They are interchanged throughout the week. These are the exercises that for whatever reason stuck with me out of the initial experimentation of many exercises from research and videos. So this means certain moves like Squat Jumps, Lunge Variations, and Side Hurdles I have not been doing after Week 1. Not that I will not be re-introducing them in the future, but this is my mind's way of filtering exercises to prevent too much overtraining.

For a beginner, should I do isometric holds before the vertical jump training?
Sorry one other thing…for a beginner what color band or weight band would you suggest?
